Small claims court files begin with a Plaintiff’s Claim, followed by the Defence/Defendant’s Claim. We will review your documents and information, consider the relevant law and draft your Claim or Defence.

The settlement conference is an opportunity for the parties to meet with a Deputy Judge to discuss settlement. To prepare for the settlement conference, we will gather, review and exchange any documents that were not already exchanged with the Claim/Defence. Then we attend the settlement conference with you as your representative.

At the trial, the parties each present their case to a Deputy Judge, including their legal submissions and their evidence. This step frequently requires the involvement of live witnesses. We will prepare the witnesses for trial, and we will be prepared to cross-examine the other side’s witnesses.
